STUDENTS

OUR MISSION:

First Students seeks to produce students who have a mature faith in Jesus. We believe this happens as teenagers are equipped with the gospel to make disciples both in Monticello and in the world.

Sundays

Sunday School

Sunday morning is the time for weekly Bible Study.  This is a chance for students, in grades 6th - 12th, to dig deeper into God's word and explore how to face teenage issues with Christ in mind.  Our classes are broken down by grade and gender.  We meet upstairs in the youth room at 9:30am.

Sunday Night Small Groups / 6:00 - 7:30pm

Why should students be in a small group?

Let's face it - life can be challenging - full of decisions we have to make, obstacles we have to overcome, and all kinds of other stuff. The best thing you can do is be in a small group growing Christ-centered friendships, learning more about the Bible, and growing closer to God.

Who should be in a small group?

Everyone!  By attending small group, you connect with the church - other student Christians who are wanting to deepen their relationship with Christ.

Where do small groups meet?

Small groups meet in homes depending on age and for middle school their gender.

The Gospel Project is a Bible study resource that invites Students to dive deeply into God's story of redemption through Jesus Christ. In every lesson, participants are immersed in the gospel and learn how when the gospel works on them, they become a part of the story, too, the very hands and feet in God's gospel project.

The Gospel Project for Students Fall 2017, Jesus Saves focuses on the week leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, as well as many of the events that took place until His ascension. Throughout the study, students will also be exposed to essential Christian doctrines along the way, being equipped to think with a Christian worldview and encouraged to live it out accordingly.
